NICOLE by OPI - Blue-Berry Sweet on You (Gumdrops, 2013)

Ahhh, liquid sand....or gumdrops in this case: I still like these gritty polishes!

Today I have Nicole bij OPI Blue-Berry Sweet on You. It is a jeans blue, slightly metallic sand with a hint of purple flash hidden somewhere inside. It is hard to describe but in certain lights it is definitely showing a purple hue!

BBSoY is fairly transparent, so you need two thick layers or three normal ones to have a opaque result on your nails.

OPI Ce-less-tial Is More & OPI Cosmo With a Twist (Holiday Starlight Collection 2015)

OPI Ce-less-tial Is More, is a rose gold foil heavy with holo glitter.
2 lumpy coats gives a opaque finish (no top coat here): it is very, very gritty (like a rough liquid sand).
It is OK, but I am not a fan of the glitter in foil look.......

OPI Cosmo With a Twist, is a dark raisin purple-blue, with colour shifting glass flecks.
The flecks shift from turquoise to blue to bright violet, depending on the light.
The polish is watery (watch out for flooding) and prone to make bald spots (I needed three coats to make it completely opaque). For me the base colour is just too dark and too brown......love the shifting glass flecks though!

OPI - Baby Please Come Home (Mariah Carey Holiday Collection 2013)

Before the New Year I posted a mani with OPI I Pulled Out a Plum, todays mani is an extention of that one. I added a layer of OPI Baby PLease Come Home Liquid Sand and used some chevron stickers from the Born Pretty Shop. The colours go very nicely together and the design worked very well to cover up my slight tip wear!
I just recently bought BPCH, initially I had the feeling it would be too cool toned for me. But ever since they decided to stop producing the Liquid Sands, I am on the hunt for all that are not yet in my possession....
BPCH is such a lovely shade, I am so happy to have bought it and I don't find that it is too cool for my skin tone at all.

OPI - Pulled Out a Plum & OPI - Baby Please Come Home

Baby Please Come Home covers very, very well in one coat: I am impressed.
The chevrons are nice but I would have liked them more when the points would have been sharp instead of rounded.

Zoya - Oswin (Ultra PixieDust Collection autumn 2014)

It's been a while that I showed (and wore) a PixieDust/liquid sand type of polish. So it was time to wear Oswin by Zoya, a deep red dust with big crimson (that how "they" call them and I guess that they are just that) hexes (hence the Ultra PixieDust). This is the only one I bought from this collection, because the other two (Noir and Arianna) seemed to be more translucent and less matte and that are just the two qualities I do not like in a PixieDust. Oswin is opaque and matte and thus a friend of mine!

This could be a splendid polish for Christmas as well as for autumn!
I used two easy coats of Oswin; there was some colour loss (especially the big hexes) after just one day of wearing it: the edges of the glitters became silver. For the pictures I dry brushed them a bit to give them back their crimson red colour.

Color Club - Indulge Me (Seven Deadly Sins Collection, autumn/halloween 2014) and colour comparison

This was the polish I wore at Halloween.

Color Club Indulge Me is a liquid sand type of polish in a brandy/toffee/fallen autumn leaves/pumpkin spice kind of colour. The toffee coloured glitter is spiced up with pink/rose gold and yellow gold and all are the same micro size.
It dries to a nice matte, fine textured finish and is very easy to remove!

Color Club - Indulge Me

I did a little colour comparison with two normal polishes: OPI Pros & Bronze and OPI Warm & Fozzie and with one liquid sand polish: NOPI Cinna-man Of My Dreams.

From left to right: Pros&Bronze, Cinna-man Of My Dreams, Indulge Me, Warm&Fozzie

Colour wise is Indulge Me in between Pros & Bronze and Warm & Fozzie but the mix of colours is along the same lines. Cinna-man Of My Dreams has more of a cranberry base and there are some blue sparkles to be seen in there that Indulge Me does not have.
To be honest I love them all.............!

OPI - Today I Accomplished Zero (Coca Cola Collection summer 2014)

Opi's Today I Accomplished Zero is inspired by.....Coca Cola Zero....and I really do hate the taste of that one. It's like drinking liquid plastic or something >brrrrr< and the after taste is the worst >shivers<

And the polish? I wasn't too sure looking at the bottle, it looked murky and unattractive to my eye.
The first coat on the nail didn't change that perspective one little bit: it was streaky and transparent. But coat number two did the trick: there was depth and there was sparkle and glowing ambers in the dark. I love it and it is very wearable!

OPI - Today I Accompliced Zero

I won't start drinking Coke Zero, but I do love this colour and I am definitely going to wear this one very often this fall!
Naturally it reminds us of the Mariah Carey one Stay The Night (one of the first Liquid Sand polishes), but I think the reddish-pink glitter is a bit more red in TIAZ and there is more size variation in those glitters as well

Nicole by OPI - Cinna-man of my Dreams (Gumdrops Collection 2013)

Polish on holiday number 5:

Some call it Liquid Sand, others Pixiedust, Texture polish or Gumdrops.
Nicole by OPI calls it Gumdrops, today I have Cinna-man of my Dreams on display.
I  L O V E this one, it is a complex colour with gold, rust, wine, orange and even some purple hidden in there somewhere. It makes my hands look very tanned (bonus) and it has some holo twinkle going on as well!

Very workable formula, two easy coats that dry very quickly (I love that about these kind of polishes).
I wore this one for days on end and it kept looking good!

Sinful Colors - Emerald Envy (Crystal Crushes Collection, winter(?) 2013)

Polish on holiday number 3:

It has been a while since I posted a "liquid sand" polish: but some time ago I found this gem on Ebay.
Sinful Colors Emerald Envy is a blue-ish green with gold shimmer, that makes it festive and sunny.

Very easy this one: two coats and days and days of wear!
I think this green one is going to need some friends soon......
