OPI - Baby Please Come Home (Mariah Carey Holiday Collection 2013)

Before the New Year I posted a mani with OPI I Pulled Out a Plum, todays mani is an extention of that one. I added a layer of OPI Baby PLease Come Home Liquid Sand and used some chevron stickers from the Born Pretty Shop. The colours go very nicely together and the design worked very well to cover up my slight tip wear!
I just recently bought BPCH, initially I had the feeling it would be too cool toned for me. But ever since they decided to stop producing the Liquid Sands, I am on the hunt for all that are not yet in my possession....
BPCH is such a lovely shade, I am so happy to have bought it and I don't find that it is too cool for my skin tone at all.

Baby Please Come Home covers very, very well in one coat: I am impressed.
The chevrons are nice but I would have liked them more when the points would have been sharp instead of rounded.

Snowfairy Nails with OPI - Snow Globetrotter (Gwen Stefani Holiday Collection 2014)

Today I have some Snow Fairy/Winter Wonderland nails for you: I used Snow Globetrotter over OPI My Vampire is Buff and OPI Pearl Diver. The result was kind of mesmerizing, I just had to imagine the low temps and the loads of snow to be in a winter wonderland!

I love the result, although it is not really "me", I'm more of a bold/solid colour kind of girl.
Snow Globetrotter (and its black counterpart Comet in the Sky) are lovely glitters with a great glitter payoff: this is just one easy coat.
I would love to see this one over a metallic base like OPI Love Angel Music Baby (Rolling in Cashmere officially didn't make it to my stash, too frosty for my taste). Maybe I will wear that combination for Christmas this year?!

And I did wear it over OPI Love Angel Music Baby for Christmas:

Then I have a little experiment.....I was inspired by the spring runway nails by OPI in the variation "Messy Touches" as can be seen here and even better here.
I used colours that were a bit more autumn (I shouldn't have though). It was fun to do but the result is a bit...I don't know...messy?!

OPI - First Class Desires (Gwen Stefani Holiday Collection 2014) and comparison

There are not a lot of polishes I bought from the holiday collection this year, but First Class Desires was one I had to scoop up. It is a lovely moody eggplant with loads of gold dust and a really easy formula: two coats and you're done!

Love it BUT it reminded me of another polish I own: Nicole by OPI Smile For The Glam-era, so I did a comparison.

The idea is pretty much the same: gorgeous base with gold flecks in abundance. The base coat is just a different colour; OPI has that deep purple eggplant and NOPI has a autumny burgundy colour.I can not say I like one better then the other, perhaps the NOPI is more for autumn and the OPI more a winter colour? But burgundy is very wearable around Christmas as well.....sooooo I need both >duh<

Revlon - Siren (Fire and Ice Collection, holiday 2010)

Since the Soccer World Championship is being held at the moment and our teams national colour is orange (our whole country is painted orange, hell: even the family name of the King is Orange)....I though it fitting to do a little tribute to the boys in Brazil! Hence orange nails today with help from Revlon's Siren.

It is a lovely orange creme, it is not too blue and yet not too yellow...just right. I needed three coats to get it nice and opaque. Oranges are difficult colours I my experience so far; they tend to be streaky and watery, I don't know why that is (perhaps it has something to do with the pigments?). Revlon's Siren was on the good side of the spectrum though.

OPI - Visions Of Love (Mariah Carey Holiday Collection 2013)

These are the last weeks before the big summer break and I can tell: we are swamped with parties (kinda fun, but not 4 a day...), last minute get togethers and presentations. As I am cramped for time as it is, I will keep things short and sweet: OPI Visions Of Love is a dark red crelly, that leaves your nails looking vampy and chic in two fairly easy coats.
It is extremely shiny and it was hard wearing as well >bonus<

Visions Of Love is a colour you can wear anytime, anyplace, anywhere it looks always chic and fashionable. I love that it has a red and not a brown base.....that makes it just that tiny bit more sassy!

OPI - Warm Me Up and Wonderous Star (Holiday 2013 Mariah Carey Collection)

To stay with the December feeling I have two Christmas polishes for you today.
OPI Warm Me Up and OPI Wonderous Star; the first is a cold leaning brown with a foggy appearance (it is almost a neutral really), the second is a clear base polish with gold glitter and with a hint of black glitter (a bit like ground pepper). I thought the WMU needed something extra and the WS on it's own was too much contrast between the gold and the black...so a combination was born!

It works, I think: the brown underneath makes the black glitters blend in better and the gold gives the brown a bit more sparkle and warmth.
I'm still not over the moon with this Holiday Collection (a bit too boring and bland for me) but it is growing on me ;-)
