Halloween nails: China Glaze - Cackle If You Want To (Ghouls' Night Out Halloween Collection 2015)

I had the right Halloween spirit this year for my nails!
China Glaze Cackle If You Want To is such a nice glitter topper, how could I not get inspired?!
It is a matte striped (!) purple (4 sizes) and black (3 sizes) glitter mix in a clear base.
It was the only polish I got from the collection, the orange (Lady and The Vamp) and the green one (Drink Up Witches) were sold out.....
For this mani I used China Glaze Cackle If You Want to (glitter topper), DURI Piranha (green), OPI Rumple's Wiggin (pale lilac), OPI Do You Have This Color In Stock-holm?, OPI My Vampire Is Buff (light creme), OPI You're So Vain-illa (vanilla creme) and Essie Licorice (black).

China Glaze - Fang-Tastic (Monsters Ball Halloween Collection 2013)

Glitterrrrrrrrrr!
For some time now I had the urge to wear a glitter topper on its own.....so you can see nude nails in between the floating glitters. Weird, I know.
I choose China Glaze Fang-Tastic for the job; it's that not so halloweenish Halloween glitter from last years collection (Monsters Ball). It has blue, green and fuchsia glitter in it and some bigger blue hexes as well. Although it is more Christmas then Halloween I like the combination it's nice and very, very bling at three coats!

I used peel off base coat from Essence (love this stuff: too bad they don't have it in the collection anymore), three coats of Fang-Tastic, an extra layer of top coat (Essence Gel Look) and to top it all off China Glaze Fast Forward. It stayed put for days on end!

Color Club - Indulge Me (Seven Deadly Sins Collection, autumn/halloween 2014) and colour comparison

This was the polish I wore at Halloween.

Color Club Indulge Me is a liquid sand type of polish in a brandy/toffee/fallen autumn leaves/pumpkin spice kind of colour. The toffee coloured glitter is spiced up with pink/rose gold and yellow gold and all are the same micro size.
It dries to a nice matte, fine textured finish and is very easy to remove!

I did a little colour comparison with two normal polishes: OPI Pros & Bronze and OPI Warm & Fozzie and with one liquid sand polish: NOPI Cinna-man Of My Dreams.

From left to right: Pros&Bronze, Cinna-man Of My Dreams, Indulge Me, Warm&Fozzie

Colour wise is Indulge Me in between Pros & Bronze and Warm & Fozzie but the mix of colours is along the same lines. Cinna-man Of My Dreams has more of a cranberry base and there are some blue sparkles to be seen in there that Indulge Me does not have.
To be honest I love them all.............!

Pretty & Polished - Blood Clot or my take on Halloween!

Here in The Netherlands, Halloween is not very big business...some children will go and try to "scare" some shop holders in the street, but it is nothing big.
I had the sudden urge to wear something bloody on my finger tips so I reached to a friend from last year: Pretty & Polished Blood Clot. I stalked it for weeks because it was sold out every time...and when I finaly purchased it..Halloween was over!
I love this polish, it sounds gruesome "Bloot Clot" but it looks quite charming I would say!
It is a syrupy cherry red (or blood red if you prefer) with two sizes of shiny hex glitters. There is some fishing acquired for the big hexes and with that you tend to add a blob of syrup on the nail as well. This gives it that extra clotted appearence.

This was three layers and some extra blobs:

I tried my hardest to get it photographed right...it just wouldn't. The polish is so shiny that it messed with the focus of the camera. The colour of the third and the fifth shot is the closest to the truth, it has just a hint more brown in it (more blood, less cherry). Do NOT look at my cuticles they are horrid...and it isn't even winter yet!

Happy Halloween!!!

China Glaze - Howl You Doin shiny and mattified, Monsters Ball 2013 Halloween Collection

I bought 2 polishes from the China Glaze Monsters Ball Halloween Collection: Fang Tastic (the glitter I showed you already) and Howl You Doin.
HYD is a hard to describe polish, its dark raisin coloured with dark purple microglitters and orange flackies (I sometimes think I see a hot fuschia glitter in there as well, it might be wishful thinking though). The consistency of this polish is HORRIBLE; it is thick, gluey and streaky it feels like smearing Tipp-Ex on your nails and the result is the same bumpy streaky mess!

I first did two layers with one coat of Essie Matte About You (it seemed to me this polish was meant to be matte).

With Essie - Matte About You.
In daylight it looks quite OK, last evening in low light it was ugleeeey! Next time I will try three coats and then the matte top coat.
Today I thinned HYD with 7 drops of thinner, slapped on one coat more and topped it off with Seche Vite.

Three coats is much better and the thinner helped a lot! As you can see even with a thick coat of Seche it is still bumpy and I like it best mattefied.
I'm not too sure about this polish..it is a bit to dark to let the glitter and flackies shine (not jelly enough) and the formula is terrible (even with thinner it is still iffy). I kind of see what they were going for but the result is not perfect.

OPI - Embarca-dare Ya! teamed up with China Glaze Fang Tastic (Monsters Ball Halloween Collection)

Something went completly wrong here....I painted my nails with the lovely deep magenta with gold/silver shimmer from the OPI San Francisco Collection Ambarca-dare Ya! Next I slapped some NYX GCS on waited a few hours and went to bed. Next morning I had three BIG dents in my pointerfinger >buh<
My solution: China Glaze Fang Tastic from the most recent Monsters Ball Halloween Collection. Fang Tastic is a red, green and larger blue glitters in a clear base.

The result:

OPI Embarca-dare Ya
OPI - Embarca-dare Ya! & China Glaze - Fang Tastic

OPI Embarca-dare Ya
In diffused light.

OPI Embarca-dare Ya

In sun light.
I was a bit disappointed that I didn't get to enjoy Embarca-dare Ya on it's own BUT I really like the combination with Fang Tastic....it is festive, warm and fun!.
For the OPI I used two easy layers and the China Glaze went on with just one. The glitter pay off was great, with three coats you can wear this on it's own I guess. Perhaps it is me not living in the US or something but I do not get this glitter being in a Halloween collection? Shouldn't there be some pumpkin orange in there or candycorn yellow, spider black, slimy green, or blood red (oh there is)......?
Well, Halloween issues aside, I like Fang Tastic and I like Embarca-dare Ya and the combination is lovely as well!
