Claire's Nail Polish - Skater (12547)

Polish on holiday number 12:

I was at the counter at Claire's and bumped into this polish. It just jumped at me, it looked like a very juicy coral crelly to me in the bottle. When I slapped it on the nails it appeared to be a more orange leaning neon coral. Well, I don't mind....I like it very much this way!

It IS a crelly and it needed three coats to get to this juicy and succulent point. I used China Glaze Fast Forward top coat and that was a good decision, I had nor chips or wear for days >happy<
For such a cheap polish I was pleasantly surprised; the formula is great, the brush good and the durability is excellent.
I'm in for second's!

And this is the END of the holiday series,
next time I'll be back with some new and fresh manies!!

Orly - First Blush (Blush Collection, Spring 2014)

Polish on holiday number 11:

Orly Dare To Bare, was wearing so good that it stayed on my nails forever. It needed it little change, so I took a friend from the collection: First Blush, a strawberry pink or strong pink leaning muted red.
These two colours go very good together, so I tried a colour block with this one. I like it better without the extra thin stripe though (like I did with Essie Blanc and Funky Limelight). But the result was not bad I guess....

First Blush is very good self leveling and with one coat this result was created.
I'm curious to see First Blush on it's own, it's a very juicy colour but it *might*  be a tiny bit matronly....

Orly - Dare To Bare (Blush Collection, Spring 2014)

Polish on holiday number 10:

I'm really loving my neutrals these days, but I was a little hesitant about this one...I feared lobster hands....
But Dare To Bare works for me >YEAH< no lobster hands and this very gorgeous and fresh neutral is my new friend!
The colour I would describe as a pink leaning putty/neutral, it is not warm leaning nor cold leaning...it's just neutral. Very wearable for all kinds of skintones!

This was three coats, but you can get away with two if you're careful. I used the Orly Polishield fast drying top coat with this one and I had no chips or significant wear for the longest time.
Drying time is a bit longer then when you use Poshé but the result was very glossy and durable.

Flormar - Matte M09 neon pink

Polish on holiday number 9:

What is summer without a good juicy neon...I ask you?
This Flormar was waiting to be shown for almost a full year.
The moment I put the brush on the nail I loved this one, I might even need to give it some brothers and sisters....you never know....

The consistency is fabulous: it's a crelly and it glides on the nail like butter. It is self leveling and dries to a matte very quickly. Two of these easy peasy layers of goodness will do the trick just fine and the result stays on your nails for days and days!

Two words: summer perfection!

OPI - Oy Another Polish Joke! (Euro Centrale Collection, Spring 2013)

Polish on holiday number 8:

This baby was waiting in my drawer for ever, so that was not fair to Oy-Just Another Polish Joke because she is just gorgeous! If my nails were not so stained I would love to wear this on it's own. But as it is I slapped it on Sorry I'm Fizzy Today and loved the result really.
It made the pink more of a soft orange and gave it the most beautiful golden twinkle.

This is just one layer over SIFT and it issn't patchy at all, the golden twinkles spread out very evenly.
Very festive: it's like sunshine on your nails :-)

OPI - Sorry I'm Fizzy Today (Coca Cola Collection 2014)

Polish on holiday number 7:

Sometimes you're just in the mood for pink!
Here we have OPI Sorry I'm Fizzy Today, a warm (to coral) leaning pink creme.
It's a very flattering colour for my skin tone, if you have more cold undertones this might not be the pink for you.

This was three layers: the first was a bit streaky, the second was a bit better and the third evened everything out. It dried very fast and thin (three layers didn't make my nails look like there was gel on them).
There was very little wear to this as well: so all in all not too bad for this luscious pink!

Essie - Breezy Beach (this is an old one!)

Polish on holiday number 6:

Very nude and very Essie, this Breezy Beach (lovely name).
It is a peach pink nude with a hot purple pink flash.
It very easy to wear, very work appropriate >duh<, to go short: you can not go wrong with this one.
Yet the shimmer gives it that something extra that made me want to own it!

This is an old formula, so it is very watery and thin. I needed four thin coats to build up to this result.
Perhaps this would look great as a top coat as well....I might just try that some time!

Nicole by OPI - Cinna-man of my Dreams (Gumdrops Collection 2013)

Polish on holiday number 5:

Some call it Liquid Sand, others Pixiedust, Texture polish or Gumdrops.
Nicole by OPI calls it Gumdrops, today I have Cinna-man of my Dreams on display.
I  L O V E this one, it is a complex colour with gold, rust, wine, orange and even some purple hidden in there somewhere. It makes my hands look very tanned (bonus) and it has some holo twinkle going on as well!

Very workable formula, two easy coats that dry very quickly (I love that about these kind of polishes).
I wore this one for days on end and it kept looking good!

Essie - Fair Game (Fair Game, Resort Collection 2011)

Polish on holiday number 4:

Ahhh, game watching in a resort in Africa >hmmmmm< sounds wonderful!

In the mini bottle I like Essie's Fair Game, it is a steel blue/grey with a hint of green, very edgy I thought ("I might even need it in a big bottle" I was contemplating..).
But then on the nail: *not so hot* I'm afraid.
It is way too frosty to my taste and the green is completely gone. It looks like a frosty steel grey with a hint of blue.

In the pics it looks better then in real life, I must admit. The formula was OK, a bit liquid but workable...this was two layers >I think< it could be three.
But the conclusion is: I don't need a big bottle of this one, YAH saving money here!!!
