OPI - At First Sight dotted french

Wow, I have been a busy mum at school....we organised an Easter breakfast for 220 kids! That is 380 boiled eggs, 720 chocolate eggs, 200 croissants, 240 petits pains etc. etc. Thankfully everything went well, even the Easterbunny showed up :-)

I don't know if OPI At First Sight qualifies for a Easter mani, but it'll have to do! OPI At First Sight is an old one, it's from the Fairytale Bride: Soft Shades 2009 Collection.
I love this polish: it's non streaking, not completly white yet still very fresh looking, it has golden shimmer and it is semi transparent. Love it.
To jazz it up I made some french dots with OPI Goldeneye, it matches the shimmer beautifully and gives the colour a little kick.

Well, see for yourself:

I hope you can see the delicate shimmer of At First Sight, it was hard to capture with my compact.
I used 2 layers of AFS then made the dots and finished off with a layer of fast drying topcoat.

OPI - Euro Centrale Collection - You're Such A Budapest and Can't Find My Czechbook

Moving on to the new OPI Euro Centrale Collection! Today I did DOTS: yeah. I love dots and I should do them more often.
OPI You're Such A Budapest (YSAB) and OPI Can't Find My Czechbook (CFMC) are colors that are bestest ;-) friends in my book. Both are bright but a bit faded and both are soft without being extreme pastels.

I opted to use YSAB as a base colour and use CFMC for the dots. I saw swatches of CFMC alone and that made it look more bright and blue then in my case when used as dots on the lilac. The lilac made it look more of a petrol or greenish blue....which is lovely as well :-)
*note to self* next time I should use CFMC on its own and compare the colour with the dots.

Well, have a look and see for yourself:

The formula of YSAB was a bit watery but very workable and not at all streaky: this was 2 thin layers, perhaps when worn without the dots you need 2 thicker layers or three thin ones. There is some ultra fine purple and silver shimmer in there somewhere but it does not transfer to the nail. Perhaps that it makes the colour a bit more glowing but you don't notice shimmer just a this very slight glow.

China Glaze - Avant garden Collection - Sunday Funday

I loved doing this one: Sunday Funday with CG Liquid Crystal gradient!
It is a slight attempt to copycat a Polished Perfectionist glitter gradient mani like here , I turned it upside down and started glittering at the base of the nail.....

The result is not as clean as AmyGrace makes them (but heh, what she does is just a m a z i n g) but I really love the result nonetheless :-)

This is 2 layers of Sunday Funday and a good sponging of Liquid Crystal.
The blue of Sunday Funday is very fresh and spring appropriate and the formula was very nice as well :-)
Hope you enjoyed my glitter gradient attempt!

China Glaze - Avant Garden Collection - Snap My Dragon

In trying to do a better job in the nailart department, I did a new zip lock mani. This time I used Color Club Eternal Beauty (Halo Hues II). I painted my zip lock in the morning and used it in the evening. It was nice and flexibel this way and it applied much easier then the dragonflies :-)
Snap My Dragon is a very rich and fruity red, it's not orange at all and not too blue either: it is like strawberries and raspberries mashed together....very spring appropriate really. The polish is very pigmented and has some lovely shimmer in there, which makes it almost glowing at times.

This is 2 layers of Snap My Dragon and the little flowers are 2 layers of Eternal Beauty, sealed with some topcoat. It was a lovely combi...the purple flowers seemed to float on my nails....especially in direct sunlight!
